 Untitled 4

At the beginning of the 20th century, a public landfill appeared on the coast. Once upon a time people did not think that such actions could harm nature. Bottles, light bulbs, old cars, broken furniture, and household waste gradually accumulated on the ocean shore.

Only after 60 years, the authorities closed the dump. The large debris was moved farther away from the coast, and the small wastes, plastic, tons of glass were left at the same place.

A few decades later, nature itself slowly sorted out the traces of human activity. Ocean waters have cleaned the beach and sharpened every piece of glass. The resulting colorful pebbles of different sizes. The pounding waves broke down the glass and pottery and tumbled those pieces into the small, smooth, colored pieces that often become jewelry-quality, which cover Glass Beach

The beach is now visited by tens of thousands of tourists yearly. Collecting is discouraged by State Park Rangers on the section of "Glass Beach" adjacent to the state park, where they ask people to leave what little glass is left for others to enjoy. Fort Bragg is a prime example of something turned from a dumping site to a national treasure and popular landmark of California. In other word It's how nature has reclaimed landfills, just as time and waves have corrected one of human's mistakes

The USS Hornet Sea, Air & Space Museum is a museum ship, located on the southernmost pier of the former Naval Air Station Alameda in Alameda, California, US

The museum is composed of the aircraft carrier USS Hornet, exhibits from the NASA Apollo Moon exploration missions, and several retired aircraft from the Second World War and the transonic and early supersonic jet propulsion period. A number of compartments contain exhibits concerning contemporary carriers that are supported by related associations. The flight deck, hangar deck, and first deck below are open for self-guided tours. Docent-led tours are available into the ship's navigation and flight deck control areas of the island and down into one of the engineering spaces containing two of the four ship's propulsion turbines.
